The BTA20.3-NA-ZP-VA-BS is a compact control board produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat within the BTA20 Machine Control Boards series. Installed inside operator panels, the unit provides the digital I/O layer and safety interlocks that connect field devices to Indramat motion controllers. By combining standard INTERBUS-S field wiring with the proprietary BT-BUS backplane, the board streamlines signal routing for coordinated axis overrides and emergency stop logic in packaging, printing, and general automation equipment. This layout helps keep panel wiring centralized while leaving motion control functions to the connected system electronics.

The signal processor transfers a parallel word of 48 bits during each scan, allowing status, command, and diagnostic data to move at the same time across the control structure. The board has 40 digital inputs for switches and sensor contacts, and each input channel is optically isolated from system logic. Output capability is arranged as 24 sourcing lines that can drive relays or solenoids, and each output can supply up to 200 mA without exceeding its electrical limit. All communication passes through the dual interface identified as INTERBUS-S / BT-BUS, so the board can operate on a remote network while also stacking on the local BT backplane for fast internal updates.

Up to 4 modules can share the BT backplane, and the total segment length can reach 50 m while maintaining a remote transfer rate of 500 kbaud. The board draws only 50 mA from the +5 V logic rail, which helps multiple units operate from a common supply. Two independent emergency-stop circuits and three enabling circuits support safety chain integration, and a configurable override allows temporary speed increases of up to 120%. Front-panel sealing is rated IP65, making the assembly suitable for washdown enclosures. It fits control cabinets with mounting dimensions of 375 × 138 × 119 mm, and the overall depth increases to 407 × 169 × 119 mm when the plug-in connectors are installed.
