Bosch Rexroth Indramat manufactures the BTA20.3-NA-WK-BA-BS machine control board as part of the BTA20 Machine Control Boards series. The board serves as a decentralized I/O and communication interface between motion drives and a supervisory PLC in automated production cells. By concentrating bus conversion and digital signal handling on one compact board, it simplifies cabinet wiring and enables deterministic data exchange across distributed actuators and sensors. It is intended for installation in operator panels where sealing and local diagnostics are required.

Primary plant communication is handled through the INTERBUS-S / BT-BUS interface. A molded front panel carries an IP65 rating, so the electronic components are protected against dust ingress and low-pressure water jets when the board is mounted to a cabinet door. The module exchanges control data in frames of 48 bits, and this traffic is clocked at 500 kbaud to keep cycle times short. Service and diagnostics are handled through a single RS-232 port, one RS-422 input, and one RS-422 output, and these serial channels operate at up to 38400 baud. Power for external status LEDs or proximity switches can be sourced from the onboard supply, which is limited to 200 mA to prevent conductor overheating.

The discrete map on the Interbus side is partitioned into 40 input bits for sensor states and 24 output bits for coil or relay commands, reducing the need for separate remote terminals. The card mounts on a plate with a height of 138 mm and a width of 375 mm, while the enclosure spans 407 mm across the front edge and reaches 119 mm in depth. These dimensions allow installation in standard 19-inch racks without obstructing airflow. One RS-422 output socket supports daisy-chain wiring to downstream nodes, and the 169 mm overall height helps keep door clearance manageable when the panel is assembled.
