The BTA20.3-NA-WH-BA-BS machine control board is produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat within the BTA20 Machine Control Boards series. It functions as a centralized I/O and safety node, combining fieldbus communication, enabling chains, and emergency-stop monitoring so drive controllers and PLCs can react to plant events through a single module. By integrating safety logic with standard signal exchange, the board simplifies wiring in conveyor, packaging, and machining cells while presenting one coherent data source to higher-level automation systems. This arrangement helps the machine exchange status signals and shutdown commands without separate interface boards spread across the panel.

At the hardware level, the board communicates over INTERBUS-S / BT-BUS and processes signal words that are 48 bits wide, letting the control system move larger data blocks in one cycle. Its sealed front carries an IP65 rating because the aluminum panel is laminated with polyester foil, so splashed coolant or airborne dust cannot easily reach the electronics. Overall housing dimensions of 407 × 169 × 119 mm fit standard cabinet rails while still leaving space for cable bends and connector access. The remote bus can be clocked at 500 kbaud, which supports deterministic transfer of motion-related flags, interlocks, and diagnostic information between connected devices.

The board exposes 40 inputs and 24 outputs to the network, reducing the need for separate terminal assemblies in the control cabinet. Up to 3 enabling circuits and two dedicated E-stop loops are routed through internal safety relays so machine power can be removed independently from the logic supply when required. The control section sources field devices with 200 mA of current, which is suitable for optical sensors or relay coils, and it also supports eight standard switches for local overrides. Installation holes follow the 375 × 138 × 119 mm mounting envelope, and an Interbus identification code of 3 supports automatic node addressing through the RS232, RS422, and Interbus pass-through interfaces.
