The BTA20.2-NB-LP-KA-BS control board is produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat within the BTA20 Machine Control Boards series. It is intended for installation behind an operator-panel bezel, where it coordinates local sensors and actuators with a central PLC and allows deterministic exchange of discrete I/O over a remote fieldbus. The board consolidates wiring for modular packaging, material-handling, or assembly stations by combining input sampling, output driving, and network communication on one compact printed circuit subassembly. This arrangement lets the panel process local machine signals without requiring separate interface modules at the station.

This model communicates through the INTERBUS-S fieldbus, and its integrated regulator can source up to 50 mA on the internal +5 V rail for small peripheral loads. Telegrams move across the ring at 500 Kbaud, helping keep cycle times short even when many stations are chained. The front bezel meets IP65, protecting the keypad and indicators against dust and washdown fluids, while the electronics inside the enclosure remain in an IP20 environment. Eight isolated external inputs and eight transistor external outputs are wired directly to the panel, and matrix expansion raises capacity to 48 inputs and 24 outputs overall. The input and output stages operate at 24 V, matching standard industrial proximity sensors and solenoid valves.

The module transfers sixteen parallel words on each scan, so a 48-bit data width reports every local channel without segmenting the message. Mechanical fit requires a mounting cutout that is 137 mm high and 376 mm wide, while the finished face reaches a height of 169 mm to compress the gasket properly. Behind the bezel, the full width reaches 407 mm, leaving space for pluggable spring terminals that route field signal pairs and shield conductors away from the logic core. That layout also helps keep terminal access organized in compact panel assemblies.
