The BTA20.2-NA-WE-VB-BS board is a machine control module produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat for the BTA20 Machine Control Boards series. Designed for distributed motion or process stations, it sits between field devices and higher-level PLCs, consolidating input and output handling, emergency-stop chains, and operator override functions. Within an industrial cell, it provides data exchange over the Indramat remote bus and organizes safety contacts so actuators can be shut down when required.

The board accepts a total of 48 inputs and routes commands to 24 outputs, giving a 2:1 input-to-output ratio suited to sensor-rich machines. Each cyclic data frame occupies a 48-bit module width, while operator overrides are encoded in a separate 4-bit field. These frames move across the remote bus at 500 Kbaud over two shielded conductors, allowing multiple boards to share the same trunk without timing loss. Two normally open E-stop contacts are included, and the unit also provides eight external input lines plus eight external output lines that can be wired to panel pushbuttons, stack lights, or valves. Override selection is made with two rotary switches and can be locked through an external enable signal.

Power for external sensors is supplied from the bus connector and is limited to 50 mA so that shorts cannot overload upstream supplies. The aluminum front plate carries sealed keys and indicators; its surface meets the IP65 front rating, while the remaining housing is ventilated to IP20 standards and rises only to 169 mm tall with a 407 mm width for cabinet mounting. An operator can raise speed or feed commands up to a 120% override before the unit blocks any further increase. The protected front panel and compact layout suit cabinet installations where direct local access is needed.
