The Bosch Rexroth Indramat BTA20.1-NA-ZP-VA-BS is a machine control board from the BTA20 Machine Control Boards series. It sits between the numerical controller and field devices, consolidating bus communication, discrete inputs, and override functions required to run a machining center or transfer line. By integrating these services on one printed circuit assembly, the board reduces cabinet wiring and frees the higher-level CPU from low-level signal handling. The slim unit slots into a rack and exposes a sealed operator faceplate so adjustments can be made directly at the machine.

The board provides communication through the INTERBUS-S / BT-BUS fieldbus, allowing deterministic exchange of control words and status bits with the Rexroth VME or PC-based controller. Local discrete processing is handled by an 8 in / 8 out terminal group, so eight sensors and eight actuators can be wired directly to the card without external terminal blocks. At the system level, telegrams move across the remote bus at 500 Kbaud, keeping cycle times suitable for tight position loops on medium-size machines. Internal shift registers present process data to the bus in a 48-bit frame, matching the controller’s word alignment and reducing parsing overhead.
