The BTA20.1 machine control board is produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat for the BTA20 Machine Control Boards series. The board serves as a modular interface between field sensors, actuators, and higher-level controllers in automated machinery, combining discrete I/O and Interbus communication on a single printed circuit. By routing signals through one board, the design can simplify panel wiring while helping keep the machine front sealed against dust and splashing water. This layout is suited to installations where control connections and network signals need to be organized in a compact space.

The board draws its logic power from a 5 V bus rail and, at peak loading, pulls no more than 50 mA. These limits help the backplane supply stay within typical PLC current budgets and reduce the need for a separate logic source. Data flows over the Interbus remote bus at 500 Kbaud, and the module reports an identification code of 3 so the master can recognize its position in the network. Internally, eight built-in components condition the signals associated with the eight external inputs and eight external outputs provided on the terminal block. All process data are transferred to the host in a 48 bit I/O frame, which keeps channel handling straightforward. The molded faceplate carries an IP65 rating, so operator-side contamination does not compromise the electronics.

Installation dimensions remain compact: the board spans 407 mm in width and stands 169 mm high, while the DIN-rail carrier uses a standard component depth of 22.5 mm. Connection to field wiring is through 30 hard-wired socket pins, giving direct access to the available signal points on the device. Rear-side ventilation and an enclosure class of IP20 suit cabinet mounting where limited ingress protection is acceptable. The slim profile helps the board fit into control cabinets without demanding excessive mounting depth. The overall layout also leaves room for cable routing along the cabinet face without crowding neighboring modules.
