Product Description:
The BTA15.1-NA-WK-BS is a machine control board produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat for the BTA15 Machine Control Boards series. It serves as a fieldbus interface and safety logic module within industrial automation cabinets, coordinating signal exchange, emergency stop routing, and drive enable commands for multi-axis motion systems. By combining communication, termination, and safety contacts on one substrate, the board reduces wiring complexity and supports orderly shutdown of connected machinery. This arrangement helps centralize several control functions that would otherwise require separate interface and relay components inside the enclosure.
The control logic communicates over the INTERBUS-S / BT-BUS backplane, and its integrated termination network loads the segment with only 50 mA. All electronics operate from a nominal cabinet rail of 24 V, with reliable startup supported by a minimum input draw of just 7 mA. The same 24 V level is supplied on the sensor outputs so connected devices can share compatible logic thresholds without added conversion hardware. A painted aluminum front panel capped by a chemically resistant polyester foil shields the circuitry from process fluids, and this construction achieves a front-side protection rating of IP65 when the board is mounted through the enclosure door. That front-mounted design helps the interface remain accessible while the more sensitive electronics stay protected inside the cabinet.
Safety circuits on the board can interrupt both the emergency-stop chain and the drive enable loop at currents up to 2 A DC / 3 A AC, and they accept control potentials of 24 V DC / 42 V AC. Once installed, the remaining housing carries a protection class of IP20, which helps prevent accidental contact with live conductors inside the cabinet. Diagnostic data are forwarded over an RS422 port that delivers a 5 V differential signal while sourcing up to 60 mA, allowing dependable communication across long shielded pairs. These signal, safety, and power functions let the board coordinate cabinet-level interlocks and status exchange without adding unnecessary complexity to the control layout.
