The BTA15.1 control board is produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat for the BTA15 Machine Control Boards series. Installed in machine tools and assembly stations, it translates field-level signals into bus traffic so a supervisory PLC can initiate motion, clamping, or safety routines without direct wiring to each device. The board functions across an ambient range from +5 °C to +45 °C and remains intact during transport down to −20 °C.

The module loads the backplane with a maximum bus current of 50 mA, so power budgeting inside the cabinet is predictable. Each of its sixteen sourcing output channels can deliver up to 200 mA, allowing direct drive of indicator lamps, relays, or optical couplers without external amplifiers. Inter-device communication uses Interbus at 500 Kbaud. Together with a word width of 48 bit, this supports deterministic updates for mixed digital I/O blocks. A separate diagnostic interface operates at 38400 Baud, giving software access to status words and error registers without disturbing field traffic. The input circuit recognizes a logic HIGH only above 18 V and treats anything up to 10 V as LOW, a wide margin that helps avoid false transitions caused by inductive noise or voltage drops in long cable runs.

For plant-floor mounting, the front panel carries a sealing gasket that attains IP65, so splashed coolant or dust cannot reach the connectors, while the rear and sides retain a cabinet-ventilated rating of IP20. The steel enclosure measures 318 mm wide and 169 mm high, leaving room in a 19-inch rack for additional axis cards, and its 86 mm depth keeps wiring accessible from the front. Continuous operation is permitted up to +45 °C, matching typical control-cabinet climate limits and eliminating the need for dedicated board-level cooling accessories.
