The ADF164B-B05TD0-AS06-C2N1 main spindle motor is designed for flange mounting. It has a plain output shaft with shaft sealing ring. This must be sufficiently lubricated to make sure minimal wear and tear. The lubricant serves as the coolant and dissipates the frictional heat. This ADF main spindle motor also has a digital servo feedback and standard bearings. It does not have holding brake and it has no side B shaft end, which is necessary if additional position encoder is needed. This product has a balance class R classification.
This specific main spindle motor is liquid-cooled. Thus, it can be operated at any elevation. It has a standard ambient temperature range of 0° to 45° C. To ensure maximum performance of the motor, the said ambient temperature must be maintained. As per DIN 40050, this main spindle motor is protected by their coverings and housing. These include protection against water, penetration of extrinsic objects, and in contact with moving or live motor parts. The ADF164B-B05TD0-AS06-C2N1 also has a protection classification of IP 65, which means good protection against water and penetration of objects with a diameter of more than 50mm. The protection does not include intentional penetration. For added protection against chalky build up and harmful chemicals, like acid and alkaline, the items come with a primary black coating.
