The introduction of Rexroth ADF main spindle motors changed how plastic injection molding, printing and textile machine were run. This family of motors has a wide range of speeds and a broad field weakening range of 1:6 allowing the motor to operate at half torque and a higher speed. Rexroth ADF motors are flange mounted and have a side B shaft extension making it possible to interface an extra position encoder. Also, these motors support a holding brake that makes it possible to hold the output shaft into position when the motor is not running.
The Rexroth ADF132C-B05TB1-ES03-B2S1 is a main spindle motor that belongs to the Rexroth ADF series of motors. Motors in this family employ the induction principle when operating thus require minimal to no maintenance. The ADF132C-B05TB1-ES03-B2S1 supports terminal box connections with a side B output direction and the connectors are located on the upper part of the motor for easier and secure connections. The motor does not feature a holding brake. To enable accurate and precise positioning, the motor features a high-resolution motor feedback. The motor feedback has a resolution of 1/2000000th revolution and measures the motor’s rotor position and sends it to the controlling drive.
