Product Description:
The 2AD132D-B05OB2-AS03-B2V2 is a high-speed servo motor that features an Asynchronous mode of operation where the stator and the rotor of this servo motor rotate at varying speeds, hence generating a difference in the slip. This particular servo motor model comes with a nominal speed rating of 1500 rpm, while at the maximum, it is able to rotate at 7500 rotations per minute. The low inertia design of 0.118 kgm² helps this servo motor go from zero speed to its maximum speed in a matter of seconds. For applications such as robotics, a high-response servo motor is always a great choice, and the 2AD132D-B05OB2-AS03-B2V2 is a good one as it offers a low inertia design.
This motor design enhances the overall operation experience, as it has an encoder installed on its back. The encoder on this motor, with the help of the rear shaft end, tracks the rotation of the motor shaft, which helps with calculating the current position of the motor shaft and also predicting the number of steps needed to rotate to a particular requested position. For data transmission and communication with a motor control module, the 2AD132D-B05OB2-AS03-B2V2 comes with an EnDat 2.1 digital encoder interface that sends data serially over to the motor control module along with the necessary bits needed for data collection. To keep the servo motor's speed close to the speed setpoint, the 2AD132D-B05OB2-AS03-B2V2 comes with a tacho feedback system where a feedback signal of 3 volts is generated for every increment of 1000 rpm of speed.
Always make sure to operate this motor when the temperature is between 0 to 45 degrees Celsius, as that is the recommended operational temperature. Using an external thermistor or a thermocouple may be beneficial to get this reading, and attaching it to the servo motor's body would allow users to attain the best results. This motor, however, is fully thermally insulated with a class F thermal insulation that ensures the servo motor can withstand a maximum of 170 degrees Celsius temperature.
