The 2AD132C-B35RB1-CS16-B2V1 from Rexroth Indramat is an Asynchronous servo motor. In asynchronous motors there is no fixed relationship between the rotor and the stator's magnetic field; instead, this servo motor operates on the principle of electromagnetic induction, where the rotor lags slightly behind the rotating magnetic field of the stator, creating what is called slip. This motor has a maximum speed rating of 7500 rotations per minute while it requires around 279 volts AC of input voltage to operate with a 3-phase input configuration to power each pole of the servo motor with a phase difference of 120 degrees.
To ensure this servo motor is able to withstand the harsh conditions of industrial environments, the 2AD132C-B35RB1-CS16-B2V1 comes with an IP 65 protection rating. This protection rating provides a level 6 protection against dust keeping the motor safe from dust particles that are as small as 2 mm and also provides a level 5 protection rating against low pressures of water or moisture levels. This motor enclosure is also protected against scratches that are up to 0.2 mm deep.
The CS16 configuration allows this servo motor to feature a 100 Nm electrically engaged brake with a voltage rating of 24 volts DC while also offering a high-resolution digital feedback system to allow the shaft of the servo motor to be positioned as accurately as possible for applications where accurate shaft positioning is critical to the processing system such as robotics and process control. To control the speed, this servo motor may rely on a tacho feedback system where the tachometer will generate a feedback voltage of up to 1.5 volts whenever this motor attains a speed gain of 1000 rpm.
