The 2AD100D-B05OB2-AS03-C2N1 from Rexroth is an AC motor designed to be used as a spindle motor for a CNC machine or a milling machine. Featuring high-resolution feedback, the 2AD100D-B05OB2-AS03-C2N1 can also function as a servo motor and is suitable for applications in robotics, manufacturing processes, and packaging machinery. This motor is equipped with a cooling system that incorporates an axial blower fan, which draws air from the front, circulates it through the internals, and expels it from the rear end of the motor. The axial blower requires 230 Volts AC to operate with a frequency rating of 50 Hz to 60 Hz in a 3-phase configuration.
One drawback of this motor is the absence of a holding brake to prevent the motor shaft from rotating in case of power loss during operation. A holding brake would help maintain the shaft in a fixed position, only allowing movement upon receiving a command from the control module to release the brake and permit the motor shaft to spin again.
