2AD100C-B05OA1-AS23-B2N1 is an AC motor. It is designed by Bosch Rexroth and does not require any maintenance. The motor product line is 2AD. Together with drive controllers, 2AD motors feature a broad speed range, and a broad speed range under field control of 1:6. Either flange or foot installation is supported for helping to meet the demands of varying installation requirements and conditions. Bosch has designed the 2AD100C-B05OA1-AS23-B2N1 motor for flange mounting. The flange is a rectangular plate attached to the motor hosing. It has holes that operators align with holes on mounting surface. The motor is then securely attached to the mounting surface by the use of mounting screws. For 2AD motors, the output shaft can be clamped into position at standstill using the holding brake. This means that the main spindle is safely held in place within the machine tool. 2AD motor versions with either electrical clamp or electrical release capabilities are available.

Approximately 60 millimeters of the shaft are available outside the motor housing. The motor relies on surface cooling for dissipation of heat generated during operation. It is equipped with an axial cooling fan rated for 230 Volts AC. The power connection is on the top with the direction of the connector towards side A.
