2AD100C-B05OA1-AS13/S005 is an asynchronous servo motor. Asynchronous motors are those for which the shaft speed and input current frequency are not in synch. On the other hand, synchronous motors are those whose shaft speed is in synch with the frequency of input current. Compared to synchronous motors, asynchronous motors have a simpler design, deliver higher efficiency, and support a wide range of applications that don’t require accurate speed control. One characteristic of asynchronous motors is slip, which is the difference between the shaft speed and the speed of the rotating magnetic field. The 2AD100C-B05OA1-AS13/S005 is motor that supports high-resolution feedback. This allows its use with a servo drive controller. The motor is equipped with an electrically engaged holding brake that utilizes an electromagnetic force to hold or stop the motion of the motor shaft.
