As the stationary element of a frameless spindle motor, it generates the rotating magnetic field that interacts with a separate rotor. This allows high-speed machining centers and other automated platforms to regulate torque and maintain precise surface speeds during cutting, grinding, or drilling operations. Because the rotor is installed separately, the stator can be integrated into machine assemblies that need direct-drive spindle performance without a conventional motor housing.

Several dimensional and thermal attributes determine how this stator is matched to adjoining mechanical hardware.
