It acts as the stationary magnetic element of a frameless spindle assembly, generating the rotating field that drives the matching rotor in CNC machining centers and other automated systems. Using a separate stator instead of a fully housed motor allows direct integration into the machine structure, which reduces radial overhang while preserving the torque density needed on compact tool or workpiece spindles. Because the stator mounts directly into the spindle housing, the surrounding structure can also support stiffness and alignment without the extra bulk of a conventional motor frame.

Its cooling circuit uses liquid cooling, and heat is removed through a surrounding aluminum cooling jacket so winding temperature stays stable during extended cutting cycles. The jacket carries heat away from the laminations and windings without requiring external fan hardware, which is useful where installation space around the spindle is limited. The magnetic core corresponds to frame size 310, which suits large-diameter spindles while keeping the assembly compact. The stator has length code B, giving a mid-range stack height that balances torque output against inertia, and power and sensor conductors exit on a preassembled 1.5 m connection cable routed through the stator end.

In this configuration, the winding set uses winding variant 6E, which matches the electrical characteristics expected by compatible inverters during high-frequency operation. That winding selection is important in spindle service because inverter output frequency and motor inductance must remain compatible across the operating range. It is supplied as a stator for a 1MB frameless spindle motor, so flange and bearing elements are not included and the installation can remain short. Those support parts are provided by the spindle assembly itself, while the mating geometry supports use with standardized rotors and cooling plates without additional shimming.
