The KM2774-0000 is a multifunction I/O bus terminal from Beckhoff that belongs to the KM Bus Terminals series. It combines digital sensing and low-power switching within a single DIN-rail slice. Its combined format helps reduce terminal count where both status inputs and small switched outputs are needed on the same node. This allows a controller on the K-bus to monitor machine states and actuate indicator loads in industrial control cabinets used throughout automated equipment.
On the input side, the terminal accepts a control level of 24 V DC and presents 12 digital inputs. Each channel passes through a 3.0 ms filter that suppresses contact bounce before the signal is placed in the controller’s cyclic image. That image occupies 24 bits, so every input and output is mapped to a fixed location for deterministic access. Electrical separation between the field wiring and the internal K-bus backplane provides 500 V of isolation, which helps prevent external transients from propagating onto the terminal stack while the electronics draw power directly through the K-bus. Four digital outputs switch the same control voltage as the inputs; each channel can source up to 20 mA, and a residual off-state voltage of 1.5 V helps LED indicators remain driven without ghost currents.
For higher loads, the unit adds four power channels implemented as 3-pole make contacts. Each path can carry 1.5 A continuously and withstand a peak surge current of 40 A for 16 ms during inrush events. Dielectric strength is verified by applying 3750 V AC for one minute, and the specified T/2 off-time helps minimize arcing when the switching devices open. The housing meets the IP20 protection class, so it is intended for installation inside an enclosure with no exposed finger contact. Field and bus sections share the same switch-off time envelope, supporting synchronized release of actuators when the controller commands a safe state.
