The IP3202-B520-0000 from Beckhoff is a fieldbus box made for automation industries. It has a Device Net® fieldbus interface and can connect resistance devices directly. The module's tiny housing is built of PA6 polyamide and has protection ratings up to IP67, allowing it to operate dependably in extreme conditions.
The IP3202-B520-0000 fieldbus box has four input channels that can work with different types of sensors, such as Pt100, Pt200, Pt500, Pt1000, Ni100, Ni120, Ni1000, and general resistance readings. The module has the capability to configure five distinct input filters and measure current at 0.5 mA. The control voltage is 24 V DC, and it can be anywhere from -15% to +20%. The module needs 45 mA of current plus the sensing current, up to 0.5 A at most. Sensors can be linked by two, three, or four connections, and the basic setup contains four connections. The module separates the electricity by 500 V between the control voltage and the fieldbus. The default conversion time is 250 ms, but it can be set to as low as 65 ms. The device has LEDS that can show when a sensor is not working right, like when a wire is broken. It meets the standards EN 60068-2-6 and EN 60068-2-27 for resistance to shaking and shock, and it is approved by both CE and UL.
