Product Description:
The IP3202-B510-0000 is an analog input module produced by Beckhoff within the IP Compact Box Units series. Installed directly on the machine, it acquires temperature or resistance signals and forwards scaled data to a controller over the plant network, eliminating centralized control cabinet wiring. This compact box is designed for decentralized measurement tasks in industrial automation where protected housings and fast fieldbus exchange are required.
Four independent input channels are galvanically separated by 500 V, preventing ground loops between sensors. A complete conversion for every channel finishes in 260 ms, so a full four-channel update is available to the master at just under 4 Hz. The module digitizes sensor values with a resolution of 0.1 °C per digit; combined with a measurement error below ±1 °C, this meets common process-heating accuracy requirements. Data are transferred through the CANopen fieldbus, and each channel can use any of four input filters to suppress noise. The device supplies a fixed process image of 4 × 16 bits and can provide an optional I/O image of 4 × 8 bits plus 4 × 16 bits when required. This optional format allows the controller to allocate memory for additional channel information.
All terminations are protected by a housing rated at IP65/IP66/IP67, making the module suitable for washdown or dusty areas. Sensors attach through an M12 screw-in connection, while field power reaches the unit through one 4-pin M8 connector and one 4-pin M8 socket arranged for daisy-chain wiring. The internal sensor supply is derived directly from the US load voltage, so no additional auxiliary supply rail is needed. The module supports resistance measurement with 2-wire or 4-wire connections. A two-wire connection reduces cabling requirements, while a four-wire connection compensates for lead resistance when greater measurement accuracy is required. Either wiring method can be selected without changing the module hardware.
