Mounted directly on machinery, it eliminates long analog cable runs and supports installation in harsh areas so that data acquisition occurs as close as possible to the process. This arrangement can reduce the effect of electrical interference on low-level analog signals while simplifying connections between sensors and the control system.
This unit accepts four separate voltage channels, and each path can measure signals anywhere within the ±10 V range typical of industrial transducers. Incoming values are quantized with a resolution of 15 bits plus sign, providing 1 part in 32,768 granularity for precise feedback. At nominal settings, the conversion engine completes a scan every 250 ms, a rate suitable for temperature loops, pressure monitoring, and other slowly changing variables.
