Product Description:

The IP1011-B730-0000 is an IP Compact Box unit that gives 8 inputs for receiving digital signals. This unit connects using M8, screw type connections, good for secure hookups. It takes a nominal input voltage of 24 V DC with some room, okay from -15%/+20%. There's a quick filter of 0.2 ms on the inputs, so fast signals are seen fine. The signals seen as '0' or off are in the range of -3…+5 V (EN 61131-2, type 2), while '1' or on signals are between 11…30 V (EN 61131-2, type 2), with a typical input current of typ. 6 mA (EN 61131-2, type 2).

For talking to other devices, this unit uses the RTU/ASCII protocol. Data can go through at many speeds, from slow 150 baud up to faster 38,400 baud, picking from 300, 600, 1200, 2400, 4800, 9600, 19,200 and the highest rate of 38,400 baud. It can work in places where the air temperature is between 0…55°C, but it is safe to put away in storage in even colder or warmer conditions, all the way from -25…+85°C.

This box is built tough and will stand up to shakes and bumps, it conforms to EN 60068-2-6/EN 60068-2-27 for how much it can handle. Also, it works good with other electronics and doesn't cause or have problems from electromagnetic stuff because it conforms to EN 61000-6-2/EN 61000-6-4. When it comes to getting wet or having dust get inside, it has high protection ratings of IP65/66/67, following the rules in EN 60529. The unit itself doesn't weigh very much, just approx. 210 g, making it easy to handle and put in different spots without adding much extra weight.
