Product Description:
IL2301-B905-0000 is an IL230x series coupler box. It is used provide data to the fieldbus from the deployed digital sensors and actuators. Coupler boxes can be used to collect I/O data from extension boxes. A maximum of 120 extension boxes can be connected via an IL series coupler box. This enables formation of a distributed I/O network through a single fieldbus interface. The IL2301-B905-0000 coupler box can automatically recognize extension modules during the start up process, and it maps I/O data to the fieldbus process image. The coupler box can handle up to 512 bytes on the receiving side and 12 bytes on the transmitting side. Beckhoff recommends four twisted pair copper cable. Cat 3 cables can support 10 Mbps and Cat 5 cables can support 100 Mbps.
Star network topology is supported by the Ethernet-enabled coupler box. The maximum distance between adjacent modules can go up to 100 meters. Configuration of the coupler box can be performed from a KS2000 or a controller. The control voltage power supply is 24 Volts DC and load voltage depends on the I/O type. The maximum control voltage current consumption is 0.5 Amps. The actual value depends on the I/O type and the sensor current consumption. Connection for the power supply is via a 4-pin M8 connector. No electrical isolation is available between the channels or between the channel and the control voltage. Electrical isolation is available between the fieldbus and control voltage. Protection class of the box is IP65 and it can be mounted in any desired position. During operation, the ambient temperature should be kept between 0 and 55 degrees Celsius. The temperature for box storage is from -25 to 85 degrees Celsius.
