The IL2301-B310-0000 is a coupler box unit produced by Beckhoff within the IL Coupler Box Units series. It bridges distributed sensors and actuators to a higher-level fieldbus so that I/O points can be placed directly on tooling without large control enclosures. By combining input, output, and power distribution in one molded body, the device streamlines installation in automated assembly stations, packaging equipment, and material-handling cells.

The unit operates with a control voltage of 24 VDC and permits a maximum control current of 0.5 A. These values limit the allowable load on its internal electronics and attached sensors. It provides 4 digital inputs for signal acquisition and 4 digital outputs for actuator driving, letting a single node handle small electromechanical groups. Communication occurs over PROFIBUS, and galvanic control and fieldbus isolation help prevent back-fed noise from reaching the network.
