IL2300-B510 is an IL series coupler box. It is a part of automation solutions that are produced and supplied by Beckhoff Automation. Several types of fieldbus box modules are available for industrial solutions. These include coupler boxes, compact boxes, extension boxes and PLC boxes. Coupler boxes collect I/O data from extension boxes via an IP-Link that uses fiber optic communication. A maximum of 120 extension boxes can be connected to a coupler box. This provides connectivity between distributed I/O in the field and high-level control at a central location. Coupler boxes can automatically recognize connected extension boxes. Each coupler box maps I/O data to fieldbus process images at startup. From the fieldbus perspective, each coupler box appears with all connected expansion boxes. IL2300-B510 is a coupler box with CANopen connectivity, 4-channel digital inputs and 4-channel digital outputs.
The input and output connections are 8 mm snap type. Each input has a 3 millisecond filter. Sensors are supplied form the control voltage. The load voltage rating is 24 Volts DC. The IL2300-B510 coupler box weighs 210 grams and measures 30 x 175 x 26.5 millimeters. The box enclosure has 2 fixing holes. Each of the holes has a 3.5 millimeter diameter and is suitable for M3 screws. Housing of the box is made of polyamide. The coupler box can be configured either from a KS2000 or a controller.
