The IE3202-0000 is a remote I/O extension box produced by Beckhoff within the IE Extension Box Units series. It provides resistance-based temperature acquisition directly on the machine, allowing PT and Ni sensors to be connected without a control-cabinet breakout. By forwarding preconditioned measurement values to higher-level EtherCAT or other fieldbus couplers, the unit streamlines thermal monitoring tasks in distributed industrial automation layouts.

Each analog channel is isolated from control logic by 500 V, and the fieldbus side is also galvanically separated, supporting deterministic communication even in noisy environments.
