Product Description:
The IE2403 digital I//O module is intended for industrial automation where flexible and reliable I/O expansion is needed. Beckhoff makes sure that the product conforms to international standards with CE and UL certifications.
The IE2403 digital I/O module is provided with a total of eight digital inputs and eight digital outputs and works under rated load voltage 24 V DC. Both the vibration resistance and shock resistance of the module are in accordance with EN 60068-2-6 and EN 60068-2-27, respectively. The input voltage range for a signal "1" is found to be between 11 and 30 V DC, while the range for a signal "0" is between -3 and +5 V DC. The module supports ohmic, inductive, and light loads. The maximum amount of current being drawn from the control voltage is i=0.5 A and auxiliary power typically consumes 20 mA per channel. To finish the installation, two M3 screws with a diameter of 3.5 millimeters are employed. The PA6 polyamide is used to construct the housing and provides durability. The protection level is IP20. The operational temperature range is 0 to +55°C.
The IE2403 module provides electrical isolation between the control voltage and the fieldbus via IP-Link. A total of eight inputs and eight outputs makes up the bit width of the processed image. The module uses connectors with a spring-loaded system for signal connections. Storage temperature is specified from -25 to +85°C. EMC immunity and emission conform to EN 61000-6-2 and EN 61000-6-4. The IE2403 is suitable for installations that require reliable digital I/O expansion and is supplied without connectors. The extension box supports flexible adaptation to application requirements and provides short-circuit and inverse polarity protection for outputs.
Frequently Asked Questions about IE2403:
Q: Why does IE2403 support up to 0.5 A per output?
A: The I/O module supports up to 0.5 A per output to handle various load types that include ohmic, inductive, and lamp loads for flexibility.
Q: Does IE2403 provide electrical isolation between channels?
A: The I/O module does not provide electrical isolation between channels but offers isolation between control voltage and fieldbus via IP-Link.
Q: Why does IE2403 use PA6 polyamide for housing?
A: The I/O module uses PA6 polyamide for housing that provides mechanical strength and resistance to environmental factors for long-term durability.
Q: How does IE2403 achieve short-circuit protection?
A: The I/O module outputs are individually short-circuit proof that ensures reliable operation and prevents damage during fault conditions.
Q: Why does IE2403 have a maximum current consumption of 0.5 A?
A: The I/O module is designed with a maximum current consumption of 0.5 A from the control voltage that ensures efficient power usage and system safety.
