The Beckhoff IE2322-0000 is a member of the IE Extension Box Series; IE2322-0000 extension box comprises of, four digital inputs and four digital outputs and is designed to be compact and strong. M12 screw-type connector is used for both input and output to facilitate industrial automation applications. The device can work within the rated load voltage 24 V DC with an allowable variation of -15% to +20% and has an IP65/66/67 protection rating which means it can withstand dust, water or any environmental brutality.

All of the four outputs provide up to 2 A current each, the total output current for all four channels cannot exceed 4 A. The operative module is thornproof and inverse polarity protected. It is capable for ohmic, inductive and lamp loads. Thus, the scope of its application is quite wide. The short circuit current generally is around 4 A typical. This provides added security.||The module inputs include an input filter of 3 ms, and the acceptable voltages for the ‘0’ signal voltages fall within the -3 to +5 V range and those for ‘1’ lie between 11 to 30 V in accordance with the standards set in EN 61131-2, type 2. The inputs take in a current of 6 mA. Control voltage provides the sensor supply but only for a maximum of 0.5 A total with ready short circuit protection. The electrical contact is made by an M8 (4-pin, a-coded) male socket (feed) for the module power supply and it is fitted with an M8 (4-pin, a-coded) female socket to connect a downstream unit thus it can be easily daisy chained in an industrial setup. It has a bit width in process image of 4 inputs and 4 outputs as such simple integration into virtually any control system is achievable.
