Product Description:
Beckhoff IE2302-0000 is an Extension Box that unites four digital inputs and four digital outputs in a single device. The box is made for industrial control uses with M12 screw-type connectors for signal connections. The extension box has a 3 ms input filter and outputs capable of handling load currents of up to 0.5 A per channel, as well as short circuit and reversed polarity safety.
The IE2302-0000 extension box can handle an output voltage of up to 24 V DC, with a range of -15% to +20%. It can pick up logic 0 signals from -3 V to +5 V and logic 1 signals from 11 V to 30 V with an input current of 6 mA, which is in line with EN 61131-2 Type 2 requirements. The digital outputs can take ohmic, inductive, and lamp inputs, and the most current that can flow through them is 0.5 A per channel. Each output has its own short-circuit protection, and the average short-circuit current is 1.5 A. The sensor source can supply up to 0.5 A and is safe against short circuits. One M8 male plug is used for power, and another M8 female socket, both 4-pin and A-coded, is used for the downstream link. In the process diagram, the module has 4 inputs and 4 outputs, which make up its bit width.
The IE2302-0000 extension box has a working temperature range of 0°C to +55°C and storage temperature range of -25°C to +85°C. The extension Box IP65/66/67 protection according to EN 60529, making it perfect for different installation environments. The module offers electrical isolation between control voltage and fieldbus via IP-Link, though there is no isolation between channels or between channels and control voltage. The product complies with EMC standards EN 61000-6-2 for protection and EN 61000-6-4 for emissions.
Frequently Asked Questions about IE2302-0000:
Q: Does IE2302-0000 support different types of loads?
A: The box supports ohmic, inductive, and lamp loads. This versatility allows the module to control various industrial devices with a single output type.
Q: Why does IE2302-0000 have IP65/66/67 protection?
A: The IP65/66/67 protection prevents dust ingress and protects against water jets. This enables installation in environments where exposure to dust and moisture is common.
Q: How is power supplied to the IE2302-0000?
A: Power is supplied via an M8 male socket that is 4-pin and A-coded. The module also provides a downstream connection through an M8 female socket.
Q: Do the outputs of IE2302-0000 have current limitations?
A: Each output channel is limited to 0.5A maximum current. This current limitation protects both the module and connected devices from overcurrent conditions.
Q: Why does IE2302-0000 have electrical isolation via IP-Link?
A: Electrical isolation via IP-Link protects against ground loops and voltage differences. This isolation enhances system reliability by preventing signal interference between the fieldbus and control voltage.
