The IE2301-0000 Extension Box is a compact digital I/O module with 4 inputs and 4 outputs. The unit is designed to take power from 24 VDC power source along with 3 msec input filter. It features secure signal transmission with M8 screw type connectors.
The IE2301-0000 Extension box combines 4 x digital inputs and 4 x digital outputs in one housing. The peak current output of this module is 0.5 A/channel. The voltage has tolerance between +/- 15% to 20%. Each output can handle up to 0.5 A and is individually short circuit proof. The typical short circuit current is 1.5 A. The auxiliary power current is typically 20 mA per channel and the overall current consumption from Us without load is 25 mA. Signal states are indicated by integrated light emitting diodes. Electrical isolation exists only between the control voltage and fieldbus via IP-Link. There is no isolation between channels or between control voltage and channels. Input and output signals are connected via M8 screw type connections. The power supply for the model uses a 4 pin a-coded M8 male socket for feeding and a 4 pin a-coded M8 female socket for downstream connections. The module features a bit width of 4 inputs and 4 outputs in the process image.
