Product Description:

The IE2042 digital output module is made for uses that require robust electrical protection and effective switching. The DIN rail-attached output module can handle many different kinds of loads, so it may be easily integrated into control systems that need safe and dependable switching functionality.

The IE2042 digital output module provides two output channels that each deliver up to 4.0 A and are short-circuit proof. The module supports ohmic, inductive, and light loads and includes reverse voltage protection that promotes system safety. The nominal voltage is 24 V DC with a tolerance range of -15% to +20%. The module provides quick switching times, with a typical turn-on time of 40 µs and turn-off time of 200 µs. The storage temperature range for the module is -25°C to +85°C, while its operating temperature range is 0°C to 55°C. The usual E-bus current usage is 120 mA, and the relative humidity tolerance is up to 95% non-condensing. Fast switching times allow for fine-grained control, and the ability to handle different kinds of loads encourages adaptability in system architecture. Longevity is ensured by the polycarbonate housing, while the module and any attached devices are protected from reverse voltage and short-circuit-proof outputs.

For inductive charges, the switch-off energy per channel is less than 1.7 J. The IE2042 output module is housed in polycarbonate, dimensions 24 mm x 100 mm x 52 mm, and weighs approximately 90 g. It can be mounted on a 35 mm DIN rail according to EN 60715 standards. The module is protected against short-circuit currents up to approximately 70 A and is compliant with vibration and impact resistance standards EN 60068-2-6 and EN 60068-2-27. The module’s short-circuit current handling capability of approximately 70 A is a vital feature for protecting downstream devices.
