Beckhoff's IE2022 is a Digital output extension box designed to easily endure the rigors of industrial automation environments. Beckhoff's creation ensures stable connectivity and steady signal output in distributed I/O systems.

The small 100 mm x 35 mm x 70 mm form factor of the IE2022 box makes it ideal for integration into confined areas. The temperature range in which it functions is -25°C to +60°C. Two separate M8 4-pin connectors, one for power and one for data communication, are used. There are a total of four digital output channels in this device, and each of them can handle currents up to two amps. To ensure the safety of any devices that are attached, each output channel includes short-circuit protection and supports reverse polarity protection. Standard control systems are compatible with the signal's 8-bit digital structure and control voltage, which is 24 V DC with a tolerance of up to 29 V. Status checks are made easy with the embedded LEDs for each channel that allow signal state monitoring. There is a restriction of 0.5 A per channel for the sensor supply current, and each channel drains about 30 mA for leakage. Consistent load control is ensured by managing output switching via transistor-based technology.
