The Beckhoff IE2001-0000 extension box has its each output connected through M8 screw-type connectors and is capable of dealing with several load types, including ohmic, inductive, and lamp loads. The nominal output voltage is 24 V DC and has a tolerance range of -15% to +20% by ensuring consistent power delivery. It has 8 – channel output and each channel support a maximum output current of 0.5 A and is individually short-circuit proof. This helps in providing typical short-circuit protection at 1.5 A. The auxiliary power current is 20 mA per channel and current consumption from the US power supply without sensor current is found to be 25 mA. This IE extension box series unit’s power supply connection is facilitated through an M8 male socket for power and an M8 female socket for downstream connection. The device has a bit width of 8 outputs in the process image and features electrical isolation between the control voltage and fieldbus having no isolation between individual channels or control voltage.
