The IE2001-0000 is a decentralized output extension box manufactured by Beckhoff within the IE Extension Box Units series. Intended for mounting directly on the machine frame, the unit supplies 24-volt switching signals to field actuators while maintaining galvanic separation from the higher-level bus coupler. It expands digital output capacity at the process side, shortening cable runs and simplifying installation in distributed control architectures. Each of the eight channels operates from a regulated 24 VDC supply, and the block provides 8 outputs that are individually short-circuit monitored. A maximum load of 0.5 A per channel can be driven, while continuous draw is limited to 20 mA per channel for the internal logic. The enclosure carries an IP65/IP66/IP67 rating, so it resists dust ingress and high-pressure water during washdown.
