The Beckhoff FM3332-B310-1010 FM Thermocouple Series is considered as one of the best thermocouples modules in FM thermocoupler series specifically for application of temperature measurement in Industrial automation systems. This module has up to 32 thermocouple channels and interfaces with devices using XPROFIBUS DP fieldbus with data transfer capabilities of twelve million Baud. Along with the wide range of supported sensors, it is also supporting in type j, type k as well as mv measurement which gives the analysis of temperature ranges.
The FM3332 B310 1010 has long measuring ranges from J type thermal logger -10° C°C to 900° C, K type thermocouples from – 100° C to 1370° C with a resolution of up to 0.1°C per digit which guarantee high accuracy of measurement range. The time necessary for the transition is about 250 ms which is good for the purpose. The module operates with a measurement uncertainty of one-thousandth of the full-scale value, which classifies the field of measurement into moderate accuracy requiring applications.
The module utilizes a 24 V DC power supply and consumes approximately 100 mA of current with a maximum load of 130 mA, thus operating at a highly efficient manner. The design can be modified with 5 alternative input filters, while allowing for diagnostic usage that may warrant alteration of the module performance in terms of noise filtration. The data communication with the system is achieved via 4 x 16 bit input data and can optionally include 4 x 8 bit control/status data allowing integration to larger structures.
