The Beckhoff FM3332-B310-0010 is a thermocouple module which is a part of FM Thermocoupler Module consumables series that is capable of using 32 thermocouples. This module is connected to automation industrial system via a PROFIBUS DP fieldbus enabling data communication at high speeds of up to 12 Mbaud. This makes it ideal for applications such as simultaneous temperature measurement and monitoring where efficient communication and mobility is paramount.

The module is powered from 24 V DC and the current consumption normally 100 mA with maximum fulfillment at 130 mA is adequate and economical when in operation. The module includes two wires attachment of thermocouples which include J and K type thermocouples and mv as well. It provides measurement capacity from -10 °C to + 900 °C for type J thermocouples and also from -100 °C and up to +1370 °C for type K thermocouples allowing flexibility of use in different industrial settings. It offers a high resolution of 0. 1°C per digit so that high precision of measuring the temperature is obtained and the degree of uncertainty in measurement does not exceed ± 0.5 % of the full range measurement value.

It takes about 250 ms for the conversion to take place, which is sufficient for obtaining the temperature with high accuracy and within a short time. In addition, the input filter is adjustable with up to five variations, giving users options in the reduction of noise and processing of signals. The process image contains 4 x 16-bit data inputs and also has optional 4 x 8-bit control/status outputs that enable it to be integrated fully within larger systems.
