The EPP9001-0060 is a single-channel power distribution module produced by Beckhoff within the EPP EtherCAT P Box Modules series. Designed for decentralized installations, the unit combines EtherCAT communication and 24-volt supply lines in a compact enclosure, allowing sensors, actuators, and smaller I/O stations to be daisy-chained without separate power cabling. In an automation cell, the module functions as an entry point that receives EtherCAT P from an upstream node and forwards conventional EtherCAT to downstream devices, simplifying field wiring and reducing cabinet space.

The module has one EtherCAT P input and one EtherCAT output, so a single cable can deliver both power and data while a separate line continues pure data traffic. The protocol handled across the ports is EtherCAT P/EtherCAT, maintaining real-time determinism for motion or process tasks. Each M8 interface is color-coded: the P-coded red socket accepts the incoming supply, the green 4-pin socket passes the network onward, and a black 4-pin socket forwards auxiliary voltage to local loads. The connectors should be tightened to a maximum of 0.4 Nm. The module operates from a system voltage of 24 V DC and fits into narrow machines thanks to a width of 30 mm and a height of 86 mm. Installation holes are 3.5 mm in diameter and suit standard screws.

Two separate current paths leave the supply socket. The Up line can deliver up to 3 A, making it suitable for small motor starters or valve terminals, while the Us control line is limited to 2.9 A for sensor clusters and electronics. With a depth of 22 mm, the housing occupies minimal panel volume when mounted on machine frames. Impact-resistant PA6 (polyamide) forms the body, providing electrical insulation and resistance to oils typically present in production areas. These physical and electrical limits indicate the safe loading conditions when the module is integrated at the end of an EtherCAT P branch.
