Product Description:
The EPP7342-0002 is a dual-channel Beckhoff motion interface that can be used for direct control and operation of two independent DC motors. As a motion interface, the EPP7342-0002 can be used for monitoring and adjusting motor parameters across two channels. Like other motion interfaces, this device relies on an external incremental encoder to monitor the speed or position of the motor shaft during operation. Along with the servo encoder and the DC motor, the EPP7342-0002 realizes a complete servo axis that operates on a closed-loop system. Like other Beckhoff motion interfaces, the EPP7342-0002 employs overload and short-circuit protection on its output stage.
The EPP7342-0002 also utilizes EtherCAT P communication. Specifically, it uses two M8 connector plugs for establishing the lines for the EtherCAT P input and downstream connection. The EPP7342-0002 has four total plug connectors for the DC motor, DC link input, and two other encoders. As mentioned earlier, this motion interface can independently operate two DC motors. There exist two encoders for this device to monitor both DC motors simultaneously. Along with the plug connectors, a set of status LEDs is also available on the EPP7342-0002’s front panel for quick diagnostics and debugging.
The EPP7342-0002 comes with a compact housing and supports standard DIN rail mounting. Depending on the intended application and installation location, this device can be mounted horizontally or vertically without encountering issues. With the integrated P-coded M8 sockets, the EPP7342-0002 supports distributed clocks for synchronized operation with other automation tools and devices. To operate properly, this automation device must be connected to a nominal voltage of 24 VDC during operation. Wake Industrial provides a standard warranty upon purchase of this Beckhoff product.
