Product Description:

The EPP4374-0002 is an analog EtherCAT P box module manufactured by Beckhoff for the EPP EtherCAT P Box Modules series. It mounts directly on equipment, converting ±10 V process signals to EtherCAT while forwarding 24 V logic and peripheral power over the same four-wire line. This single-cable concept reduces panel wiring and preserves the short cycle times demanded by real-time EtherCAT automation. The fieldbus remains standard EtherCAT, allowing the device to integrate with existing network segments without special configuration.

The module provides 16-bit resolution on the voltage measuring range of -10 to +10 V, enabling fine conversion of signal changes from transducers. Its front face carries a 5-pin M12 socket that routes the separate analog common so the two channels remain resistant to ground shifts. There are 2 analog inputs that accept differential voltages, and 2 analog outputs capable of sourcing or sinking ±10 V for actuator control. An internal filter imposes a corner frequency of 5 kHz, limiting high-frequency noise before the data are scanned. The input stage uses differential acquisition, which suppresses common-mode disturbances along unshielded cable runs. All analog sections are isolated from the EtherCAT P supply to break ground loops.

System power is fed through the EtherCAT P backbone. The logic side requires 24 VDC (Us) and draws up to 120 mA, while the Up pins support peripheral and control current within the stated block limits. Network daisy-chaining is handled by 2 x M8, 4-pin, P-coded feed-through sockets, so additional modules can be placed inline without separate power drops. The enclosure is molded from PA6 (polyamide), giving the housing high impact resistance and chemical stability for on-machine mounting.
