The Beckhoff EPP3744-0041 belongs to the EtherCAT P Box Series in the variety of modules that were intended for more complex industrial needs. The rated working voltage is 24 V DC and the module includes four pressure inputs and six digital inputs which makes it appropriate for applications that need air pressure control and digital signal processing.

EPP3744-0041 has the IP65/66/67 degree of stress and is therefore dustproof / waterproof and withstands adverse atmosphere making it reliable in hard industries. The EtherCAT protocol supported allows communication through two shielded M8 sockets, P-coded, with the module. The pressure inputs are ergonomically designed for 6 mm fittings and signals are also digital including 4 pin M8 connectors outgoing.

The module indeed is able to deliver per digit 1mbar resolution where the range of the pressure is from 0 up to 1 bar (0 up to 15psi) and -1 to 1 bar (from -15 to 15psi). Accuracy of pressure measurements is 3% which is good for very demanding applications. Approximately 3.5 ms is the time filled in changing the information where real data is needed. Moreover, the EPP3744-0041 also includes two digital output circuits for maximum up to 0.5 A of current, protected against short circuit. There is also a wide band of high-speed content in the Digital Inputs comprising of a 10 µs Input filter. Because it supports distributed clocks and fulfills the requirements of the EN 61131-2 standard, this module can be integrated into contemporary automation systems. This module meets its purpose in industrial areas where control has to be under harsh conditions and high reliability is expected from the control solutions.
