The EPP3174-0002 is an analog input EtherCAT P box module manufactured by Beckhoff and included in the EPP EtherCAT P Box Modules series. It captures differential voltage or current signals from field devices and transmits digitized data directly onto the EtherCAT P network, which carries both power and communication over a single cable. This arrangement supports decentralized I/O, allowing sensors to be wired close to the machinery and reducing control-cabinet cabling in industrial automation systems.

The enclosure is suited for harsh settings. It carries a protection class of IP65/IP66/IP67, so dust ingress and water jets do not compromise the circuitry. With a housing size of 30 x 126 x 26.5 mm, it occupies little space on the machine frame. Operation is permitted from −25 to +60 °C, while components withstand storage from −40 °C to +85 °C. Input bandwidth is limited to 5 kHz by an internal filter, providing noise suppression while still allowing dynamic signal tracking. Field wiring is performed with 2 x M8 sockets that carry both power and communication, while the four analog signals connect through 4 x M12 sockets. Selectable measurement ranges include ±10 V, 0 to 10 V, 0 to 20 mA, or the industry-standard 4 to 20 mA span, all referenced to a maximum common-mode voltage of 35 V.
