The EPP2318-0001 is an advanced EtherCAT P box that combines EtherCAT communication technology with additional innovation to provide high communication speed, optimum bandwidth utilization, telegram processing on the fly, highly precise synchronization, and increased freedom in topology design. There are four digital outputs and four digital inputs on this product. Each digital output and input interface on this product are M8 sockets; the inputs are located on the top, while the outputs are located at the bottom of the device. During operation, the output channels can handle up to 0.5 amperes of load current; they are also designed to be resistant to short circuits and damage caused by inverse polarity. The input channels have a 10-microsecond filter that prevents electrical interference during operation. Apart from the output and input channels, the signal state of each channel on the product can be monitored through light-emitting diodes integrated into the product housing.

The EPP2318-0001 EtherCAT P box has a housing material made from poly amide (PA6); this material is used because of its extreme strength, durability, and resistance to wear and tear. Polyamide is also very resistant to most solvents and chemicals that often cause the rapid deterioration of most products. The housing dimension of this product is a width of 30 millimeters, height of 126 millimeters, and thickness of 25.5 millimeters.

The EPP2318-0001 operates with a rated load voltage of 24 volts, also the auxiliary power current is approximately 20 milliamperes per channel. This product is classified under IP67, which is one of the highest levels of protection offered by IP rating. The rating indicates complete protection against the ingress of dust and airborne particles.
