EPP2308-0001 is an EtherCAT P box for industrial networks. Ethernet for Control Automation Technology, or EtherCAT, is a high-performance Ethernet-based fieldbus system designed for real-time industrial automation and control applications. The technology was developed by Beckhoff Automation and it enables fast and efficient data exchange between a master controller and multiple slave devices, such as sensors and actuators, in a network. EtherCAT P supplements EtherCAT technology by providing a means for transmitting communication and power on a common line. All EtherCAT technical properties are retained with this new and innovative process. EtherCAT P Box modules operate as EtherCAT P slaves and have IP67 protection rating. These boxes are optimized for operation in wet, dirty and dusty operating environments. The EPP2308-0001 box provides four digital outputs and four digital inputs in one device.

Connection to the device is via two M8 sockets with 4 pins that are shielded. The nominal voltage is 24 Volts DC and the maximum current is 3 Amps. There are four digital inputs on the EPP2308-0001 box. The maximum cable length is 30 meters. The inputs are type 3 according to EN 61131-2. The voltage level of 0 signal level is -3 to 5 Volts DC.
