The EPP1332-0001 is a compact field-mountable I/O box produced by Beckhoff as part of the EPP EtherCAT P Box Modules series. It functions as a decentralized node that delivers both control data and auxiliary power to sensors and actuators directly on the machine, reducing cabinet wiring and installation time. The module fits seamlessly into hybrid network layouts, allowing distributed terminals to be placed exactly where signals are generated or consumed within automated equipment.

For deterministic communication, the box handles a data throughput of 100 Mbit/s, which is equal to Fast Ethernet speed. Supply rails are internally routed from the bus, and the unit operates from a nominal voltage of 24 V DC. Network entry is provided through one M8, 4-pin, P-coded input socket, while three P-coded M8 output sockets pass the segment forward and expose individual device ports. Each output channel can draw up to 3 A total per US/UP, and aggregate power is fed via an A-coded M8 connector positioned on the side panel. Despite its small footprint of 30 × 126 × 26.5 mm, the enclosure supports industrial sealing with a rating of IP65/IP66/IP67, enabling direct mounting on conveyors, presses, or robotic tooling. A second A-coded M8 socket functions as the power-out link for daisy-chaining additional modules.

The housing is molded from PA6 (polyamide), providing mechanical strength and chemical resistance without adding unnecessary weight. A variable installation position permits mounting in any orientation, and the body is anchored through two 3.5 mm holes for M3 screws, secured with a tightening torque of 0.4 Nm. The power rail entering the module can deliver 4 A each on the US sensor line and the UP actuator line, supplying additional boxes that may be wired farther along the chain. Communication and DC supply share the same conductors under the EtherCAT P protocol, so only one hybrid cable is needed between nodes.
