Product Description:
The EPP1322-0001 is a distributed I/O module manufactured by Beckhoff for the EPP EtherCAT P Box Modules series. Acting as a compact branch node, it merges EtherCAT communication and 24 V power on one four-wire cable so drives, sensors, and valves share a single trunk. Inside an automation cell the device simplifies daisy-chain wiring, saves cabinet space, and preserves EtherCAT timing. The molded housing can be fastened directly to machinery, eliminating extra enclosures even in wash-down or dusty zones.
At the field level, the module accepts the upstream network through a 1 × M8 socket, 4-pin, A-coded connector that carries both data and the US supply rail. Internal design isolates this signal from the high-current UP circuit by up to 500 V to avoid ground loops and component damage. Three independent branches leave the housing on 3 × M8 socket, 4-pin, P-coded outputs, giving the stated three ports. Each port can deliver up to 3 A to field devices, and cable runs between nodes can extend to 70 m without violating EtherCAT timing. With support for 10 EtherCAT P slaves per segment, the EPP1322-0001 enables star or tree topologies without auxiliary power splitters.
Power budgeting parameters complement the connectivity features. The UP power rail operates at 24 VDC and can supply a combined 4 A to the three downstream ports, while the separate US logic rail, which also operates at 24 VDC, draws only 100 mA for its own electronics and can likewise forward 4 A to connected slaves. Aggregate delivery is limited to 3 A across all outputs, defined as the module’s sum output current. Environmental resilience is confirmed by the IP65/IP66/IP67 rating, making additional housings unnecessary. A footprint of 30 × 126 × 26.5 mm and a mass of 165 g allow installation on moving tooling where weight and space are constrained.
