Product Description:

The Beckhoff ELX3314 EtherCAT Terminal functions as a precise industrial solution.

This device provides support for thermocouple types K, J, L, E, T, N, U, B, R, and S, together with type K acting as the pre-set standard sensor type. The broad application capability of this terminal enables it to operate in numerous industrial temperature measurement projects. The terminal operates with four differential input connections that enable simultaneous, precise temperature measurement of multiple channels. For ease of installation, the terminal requires a basic 2-wire connection that works with standard thermocouples. The measuring capabilities of Type K thermocouples extend from -270°C to +1370°C alongside measuring ±30 to ±75 mV of voltage, thus enabling wide-ranging temperature and voltage assessments. The ELX3314 product achieves precise temperature monitoring by offering a 0.1°C digit resolution accuracy level. The measurement device delivers precise results because its error level stays beneath ±0.3% when compared to full-scale measurements. The internal resistance operates at ≥10 kΩ (differential), making signal acquisition stable while reducing interference levels. Input filters found in the terminal have a 1 kHz typical limit frequency to reduce noise and achieve better measurement accuracy. The filtering capabilities depend on sensor length as well as conversion duration and sensor design for enhancing system performance across different configurations.

Through adjustment between 10 ms and 5000 ms (with 310 ms as the default), the data sampling frequency becomes adjustable on the ELX3314. The terminal operates using 24 V DC power from power contacts while consuming a typical power of 10 mA from power contacts in addition to a typical power of 70 mA from the E-bus for efficient energy management. The terminal delivers improved performance through its limit value monitoring feature, which works together with built-in digital filters and characteristic curve linearization. The terminal functions within a temperature range between -25°C to +60°C while its weight amounts to approximately 60 g, which makes it a portable and dependable component for industrial automation systems.
