The ELX3204-0090 EtherCAT terminal is a temperature measurement unit with a 2-wire connection method suitable for numerous industrial automation domains. It supports a wide temperature measuring range by extending from -200°C to +850°C when using platinum (Pt) sensors. When using nickel (Ni) sensors, the spanning of temperature further lies from -60°C to +250°C. It provides a resolution of up to 0.01°C per digit while the factory preset is 0.1°C per digit. The measuring current remains below 1 mA by depending on both the connected sensor and the selected measuring range. The unit maintains measurement uncertainty with 0.3% as positive and negative of the full-scale value which aids in ensuring proper output across the desired range. With a typical internal differential resistance of 10 k ohms or higher, the unit helps minimize interference. For an array of sensor categories, the input filter limit frequency is usually 1 kHz which allows for steady signal management.

The ELX3204-0090 EtherCAT terminal’s sensors Pt100, Pt200, Pt500, Pt1000, Ni100, Ni120 and Ni1000 are supported along with general resistance measurements ranging from 10 ohms to 4 k ohms. It is also compatible with KT(Y) sensors. With a default value of 270 ms, it can convert between 10 ms and 3300 ms. According to the requirements of industries, it offers flexibility in striking a balance between speed and stability. The housing has a blue finish and is composed of polycarbonate material. It is appropriate for multi-channel temperature monitoring applications as it has four differential inputs.
