The EL9550-0000 is a power distribution terminal manufactured by Beckhoff for the EL EtherCAT Terminals series. Within an EtherCAT I/O strand, this unit provides a local 24 V DC infeed so that downstream terminals receive a stable supply without additional wiring. By combining power injection and filtering in a single slice, it streamlines cabinet layouts and supports decentralized automation nodes that must retain compact dimensions. Because the infeed is inserted directly into the terminal row, supply can be refreshed close to the connected loads rather than being routed from a more distant source.

The terminal operates at a nominal supply of 24 VDC and is rated for a continuous combined current of 10 A, which is also the permissible field current for load circuits. It snaps onto a standard 35 mm DIN mounting rail and may be installed in any orientation when enclosure space is limited. An integrated field supply filter suppresses conducted interference on the load side, while a dedicated system supply filter cleans the control voltage before it reaches neighboring terminals. Eight screw-type contacts accommodate incoming and outgoing conductors, allowing power to be passed forward through the EtherCAT assembly without separate junction blocks.

Operation is permitted at relative humidity up to 95% RH, and the housing has an IP20 protection class for use in closed switching cabinets. A built-in renewed infeed function allows the I/O string to be divided into separately protected segments without interrupting communication. The slice provides 8 terminal points for supply and return conductors, which supports orderly daisy-chain wiring along the terminal row. This arrangement helps maintain a continuous communication structure while supplying distinct field sections from the same station.
