Product Description:
The EL9550 is a power feed terminal produced by Beckhoff for the EL EtherCAT Terminals series. It reinjects a regulated 24 V supply into an EtherCAT I/O segment and filters disruptive transients before they reach downstream terminals. Within an automation cell, the module maintains stable DC distribution so that sensors, actuators, and communication electronics on the rail remain within their permissible operating ranges when high-inrush loads are switched. Its compact terminal format allows the feed point to be installed alongside other EtherCAT modules without requiring a separate power distribution assembly.
The terminal accepts a nominal backplane input of 24 VDC and can deliver up to 10 A of field current to attached nodes. A built-in choke network filters the system and field supplies, helping prevent electrical disturbances from propagating through the I/O segment. The housing mounts on a 35 mm DIN rail compliant with EN 60715, allowing direct installation on a standard control cabinet rail. An IP20 protection rating guards against accidental contact with hazardous internal components while permitting ventilation around the housing. Electromagnetic compatibility meets EN 61000-6-2 and EN 61000-6-4, supporting operation in industrial environments exposed to conducted and radiated interference. The integrated filtering arrangement eliminates the need for separate line conditioners or mounting spacers at the feed point.
Resistance to vibration and shock complies with EN 60068-2-6 and EN 60068-2-27, making the terminal suitable for control cabinets and protected on-machine enclosures. The terminal provides 8 plug-in connection points, allowing sensors and actuators to be connected without external distribution blocks. Its enhanced load capacity and renewed infeed capability help reduce voltage dips during motor starts or solenoid engagement. The installation position is variable, so the housing can be oriented to suit available rail space and cabinet wiring paths. Stable power distribution also helps prevent supply disturbances from interrupting communication among adjacent EtherCAT terminals. The plug-in wiring arrangement provides accessible connection points for field conductors while keeping the power feed integrated with the terminal segment.
