Product Description:
The EL9410 is a power supply terminal in the EL EtherCAT Terminals series from Beckhoff. As part of an EtherCAT node, the module renews the field supply for connected devices and passes E-bus communication to the terminals that follow it. This arrangement separates upstream and downstream loads, which helps localize faults and keeps a disturbance in one section from affecting the entire I/O string. Because the field supply is refreshed at this point, power distribution can be managed more cleanly across a long terminal assembly inside the control cabinet.
The terminal operates from an input of 24 VDC, and if the supply falls below 17 V, the module reports the condition in the process image. Up to 10 A can pass through the power contacts for downstream loads, while the E-bus receives a separate 2 A supply to support communication during changing load conditions. Internal status data uses a process image width of 2 bits, with one bit for the supply state and one bit for overcurrent indication. The housing has an IP20 protection class, so the terminal is intended for dry, enclosed cabinet installation. Separating the load current path from the E-bus supply helps communication remain stable when connected actuators switch on and off.
The module includes 1 additional power contact that isolates this feed section and allows selective shutdown of connected circuits without interrupting the entire terminal row. Visual and digital diagnostics are available through LED and process image feedback, which makes the supply state visible at the terminal and in the control system at the same time. The housing snaps onto a 35 mm DIN rail beside other EL modules, and an integrated protective earth contact carries PE through the terminal assembly. That arrangement supports orderly segmentation of field power in machines that combine sensors, valve islands, and other 24 V devices on the same EtherCAT station.
